Re-Discovering Fall: Homecoming at Mahogany Springs Candle Co.

If you blinked, you may have missed it—the subtle change in weather, fewer teens at the mall and movies, and heavier traffic on the roads.  News Flash:  Summer is officially out and Fall is staking its claim.  So, as beaches, bikinis and flip flops reluctantly exit stage left, sweaters, tailgates and pumpkin patches take center stage.  Everyone is back in school.  Local high school football games and bonfires dominate Friday nights. The best Game Days always begin with a favorite breakfast—a big bowl of cereal or fluffy pancakes, stacked high, of course.  The aroma of tangy cherries, sweet orange vanilla, and warm, thick maple syrup on a Saturday morning is nostalgic.  It serves as a reminder of times camped out in front of the TV watching cartoons, or frolicking about the house, anxiously awaiting all the excitement of the day.  The kick-off, the bands and the half-time show match the exhilaration of cheering for the “best” team, but arguably some of the most fun is had during the tailgate.  When unsuspecting nostrils are deliciously aroused by plump, juicy burgers and crisp, caramelized hot dogs, tattooed with grill marks, you really have no choice but to succumb to this mouthwatering temptation.  Tailgates also invigorate you with the smell of wild, fruity, alcoholic malt because hey-- navigating through a parking lot packed with boisterous, jersey-wearing fans and coolers of fermented barley is so badass! The parties somehow seem a lot more fun during homecoming, and seeing old friends never gets old.  Going back to the place you spent so much time can evoke an outpouring of memories.
